• Peace & Pizza Evening: The Meaning of Spiritual Friendship

    Friday, September 20th, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

  • About This Event

For us to make authentic spiritual progress, and to keep a positive mind, we need to rely upon good spiritual friends. Spiritual friends, known as the “Sangha” community, are a source of inspiration and encouragement, and support us on our spiritual path.

Sangha friends are essential. To use an analogy, we can think of Buddha as being the helmsman of a boat, Dharma (his teachings on patience, compassion and wisdom) like the boat itself, and Sangha as the crew of the boat. Without the crew of Sangha we cannot reach the shores of enlightenment and realize our highest potential for inner peace.

In the Friday Night Lecture we will explore what is means to have spiritual friends and how to rely upon those spiritual friends. Afterwards we will enjoy social time and pizza together in our Cafe. There is no need to book in advance for this Friday Night Lecture but if you wish to stay for free pizza afterwards (we will also have complimentary tea and light snacks if you prefer) please book this online (no payment needed).
