Friday June 15th-Sunday June 17th, 7:00 pm - 11:30 am(Individual days can be attended)(accommodation options available - see below)
During this weekend retreat you will have the opportunity to meditate on Buddha’s teachings on the true nature of reality. These profoundly illuminating meditations have the power to completely eradicate all negativity and confusion from our mind and unlock our potential to experience extraordinary mental freedom and joy.
This retreat is open to everyone and we will be learning to develop a deep experience of ultimate truth (emptiness) by listening to highlights shared by Gen Rigpa from the International Kadampa Buddhist Festival teachings. We will contemplate their meaning, meditate on this wisdom, and learn how to apply it in our life to solve our daily problems.
The retreat will begin Friday evening at 7.00 pm with an introduction and will conclude on Sunday at 11.30 am with a delicious brunch. Each session will consist of traditional Buddhist prayers, a Buddhist teaching to introduce the meditation for the session, and a guided meditation.

This course is taught by special guest teacher Gen Rigpa. Gen Rigpa is an American Buddhist monk, our Western US National Spiritual Director, and the Resident Teacher at KMC-Hollywood. He is a close disciple of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso (the founder of our Buddhist Tradition and renowned meditation master), having received lineage blessings and oral transmissions directly from him. Gen Rigpa’s heartfelt and practical teachings are presented with warmth and humor, making them accessible to everyone. He shows the joy of living a spiritual life, and is an inspiring example of Buddhism in practice. Through his clear presentation, he is able to help students discover for themselves how to integrate these timeless teachings into our modern world, making everyday life joyful and meaningful.
