SUMMARY:Healing Our Unhappiness
DESCRIPTION:Whenever we are prevented from fulfilling our wishes or forced into a situation we dislike—in short\, whenever we have to put up with something we would rather avoid—our uncontrolled mind reacts by immediately feeling unhappy. This uncomfortable feeling can easily turn into anger\, and we become even more disturbed than before. \nSince it is impossible to fulfill all our desires or prevent unwanted things from happening to us\, we need to find a different way of relating to frustrated desires and unwanted experiences. \nIn this series\, you will learn practical methods to transform the energy of unhappiness into positive emotions.

SUMMARY:Living Beyond Fear
DESCRIPTION:Is a life beyond fear even possible? \nAccording to Buddha\, fear arises from how we respond to our environment not from the environment itself. The fear and anxiety that we experience is therefore not inevitable. \nThrough the practice of meditation\, we can learn to work skillfully with our fear. Instead of allowing it to overwhelm us\, we learn to redirect it\, so that it moves us towards developing states of mind that naturally give rise to peace\, confidence and a strong sense of purpose. \nThis drop in class is part of the weekend retreat Living Beyond Fear with Kelsang Deckok. \nEveryone welcome! \nKelsang Dechok has studied and taught in both the US and the UK for many years. She was ordained in 2006 by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche\, and was requested to be the Resident Teacher of KMC Georgia in 2023. Whether it be through guided retreats or classes\, her lightheartedness and sincerity allow students to see how the teachings can benefit them in their busy modern lives. \n

SUMMARY:Letting Go of Expectations
DESCRIPTION:Whatever our holiday tradition\, most of our stress and disappointment is coming from unrealistic expectations of ourself and others. In this short Sunday series we will explore how to let go of “expectations” through understanding where they come from and how they sabotage our holiday joy. Buddha taught many methods to transform our unhealthy habits in relationships into healing and harmony. Wouldn’t this be a wonderful way to celebrate the season this year? \n  \nChildren Welcome!
