SUMMARY:Cemetery Meditation
DESCRIPTION:This Halloween join us for a unique morning of meditation and contemplation at a local cemetery\, The Palms Memorial Park at 170 Honore Ave in Sarasota. \nGuided by Buddhist nun\, Gen Lhadron\, we will explore the meaning of death and impermanence\, not as something to fear\, but as a powerful reminder to make the most of our precious human life. Together\, we will receive contemplations to reflect on\, then wander quietly to find a gravestone that speaks to us. Sitting amongst the graves\, we will use the setting around us as a support for meditation\, contemplating questions such as: What does our death mean? What happens after we die? What were the concerns that fill days and what is really important? How can contemplating death be a powerful tool for our well being? \nNo previous meditation experience is necessary. Come with an open mind and a willingness to contemplate life’s most meaningful questions. \nBring blanket or chair\, sunwear and water. \n  \nSchedule \n10 – 11:30am: Meditation at the Cemetery \n12:00 – 1:00pm: Complimentary Lunch at Kadampa Meditation Center Florida

SUMMARY:Center Cherishing
DESCRIPTION:All Kadampa centers are dedicated to all living beings. They belong to them\, remaining in their service for all time\, and can never be taken over by individuals or organizations and used for other purposes. \nFor this reason\, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche says that these centers are very precious and that whenever we engage in an action to benefit a center we are in fact benefitting all living beings. Through such actions we accumulate vast merit\, purify negativities and receive powerful blessings. \nThis event is a special opportunity for people to come together and cherish our center and in this way benefit our local community practically. Everyone welcome! \n Come early and join us for a complimentary lunch!
