SUMMARY:Letting Go of the Past
DESCRIPTION:So much of what we dwell on has already passed. \nOld memories\, familiar worries\, and outdated beliefs can linger in our minds\, quietly shaping how we see ourselves\, others\, and what we believe is possible. Yet nothing remains the same for even a moment\, and our mind itself is constantly renewing. \nIn this retreat\, we will explore a special teaching from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche that combines meditation on the clarity of the mind with meditation on impermanence. Instead of following distractions\, we can recognize that they are already in the past and gently return our attention to the clarity and freshness of the present moment. \nImpermanence also gives us a powerful new perspective on our relationships. When we remember that the person who upset us is changing from moment to moment—and that we ourselves are also changing from moment to moment—anger and attachment begin to lose their grip. We can learn to relate to ourselves and others with greater freedom\, patience\, and kindness. \nEveryone welcome. No previous meditation experience necessary. \nStay overnight! On-site accommodations available.\n\n\n  \n  \n\n\nSchedule\n\n\n\n\n\nFriday \n\nIntro : 7:00-8:30pm\n\n\nSaturday \n\n\nSession 1: 9:00-10:15am\nSession 2: 11:00-12:15pm\nLunch: 12:30-1:30pm\nSession 3: 2:30-4:00pm (with Q&A)\nSession 4: 7:00-8:00pm (chanted prayers with guided meditation)\n\n\n\nSunday \n\nSession 5: 9:00-10:00am\nSession 5: 11:00-12:30pm\nLunch (complimentary): 12:30-2:00pm\nSession 7: 2:00-3:00pm (chanted prayers with Buddhist dedication ceremony)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPricing\n\nEntire Weekend: $75\nSaturday only: $45\nFriday Intro: $15\nAccommodations: $110-190\nSee registration for member and benefactor pricing

SUMMARY:Cemetery Meditation
DESCRIPTION:This Halloween join us for a unique morning of meditation and contemplation at a local cemetery. \nGuided by Buddhist nun\, Gen Lhadron\, we will explore the meaning of death and impermanence\, not as something to fear\, but as a powerful reminder to make the most of our precious human life. Together\, we will receive contemplations to reflect on\, then wander quietly to find a gravestone that speaks to us. Sitting amongst the graves\, we will use the setting around us as a support for meditation\, contemplating questions such as: What does our death mean? What happens after we die? What were the concerns that fill days and what is really important? How can contemplating death be a powerful tool for our well being? \nNo previous meditation experience is necessary. Come with an open mind and a willingness to contemplate life’s most meaningful questions.

SUMMARY:Mending Relationships
DESCRIPTION:Weekend Retreat with Gen Lhadron \nThe holidays have a way of bringing relationships into focus. Family gatherings\, old dynamics\, difficult memories and unresolved hurts can all resurface. But what if your peace of mind no longer depended on someone else apologizing\, changing or behaving differently? \nIn this weekend meditation retreat\, we’ll explore practical Buddhist methods for healing relationships from within. Through meditation and teachings on acceptance\, love and compassion\, we can learn to let go of painful resentment and find peace with the people in our lives\, even when the other person has not changed. \nAcceptance doesn’t mean condoning harmful behavior or forgetting the past. It means letting go of the need for someone else to change before we can be at peace. We can maintain healthy boundaries\, even love someone from a distance when needed\, while freeing our own heart from resentment. \nHealing can happen from our side alone\, even with someone we no longer see or who has passed away. And often\, when we change our own mind\, the relationship begins to change too. As judgment and resentment fall away\, we create space for something new. \nThis holiday season\, take back your peace. Learn how to unhinge your happiness from circumstances beyond your control and discover a source of love\, acceptance and wellbeing that comes from within. \nEveryone welcome. No previous meditation experience necessary. \nStay overnight! On-site accommodations available.\n\n\n  \n\n\nSchedule\n\n\n\n\n\nFriday \n\nIntro : 7:00-8:30pm\n\n\nSaturday \n\n\nSession 1: 9:00-10:15am\nSession 2: 11:00-12:15pm\nLunch: 12:30-1:30pm\nSession 3: 2:30-4:00pm (with Q&A)\nSession 4: 7:00-8:00pm (chanted prayers with guided meditation)\n\n\n\nSunday \n\nSession 5: 9:00-10:00am\nSession 5: 11:00-12:30pm\nLunch (complimentary): 12:30-2:00pm\nSession 7: 2:00-3:00pm (chanted prayers with Buddhist dedication ceremony)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPricing\n\nEntire Weekend: $75\nSaturday only: $45\nFriday Intro: $15\nAccommodations: $110-190\nSee registration for member and benefactor pricing
