“Just as there is room in the sky for a thunderstorm, so there is room in the vast space of our mind for a few painful feelings; and just as a storm has no power to destroy the sky, so unpleasant feelings have no power to destroy our mind.”
Ven Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche
Acceptance or patient acceptance, is a special state of mind through which we can relate to our unhappiness, anger, and conflict, in an open, creative way. When acceptance arises in our heart it frees us up from our mental tension and stress, and allows our natural happiness and courage to surface.
In this series you will learn skillful techniques to remain balanced, flexible and peaceful in the midst of difficult situations and conflicts, thereby overcoming our real enemy, the painful mind of anger itself. Please join us for this course to learn about the spacious mind of patience. Each class is self-contained.
This event is taught by Kelsang Gewang. Kelsang Gewang has been studying Kadampa Buddhism for many years and also manages the bookstore at our center. She is known for her sincerity, enthusiasm and wish to deeply practice and share Buddha’s teachings.
