About This Event
Mahamudra Meditation Retreat
focusing on completion stage
LABOR DAY WEEKEND
Friday to Sunday, September 1 – 3
with Gen Kelsang Gomlam
In this special retreat we will engage in the “very blessed” practice of Hundreds of Deities of the Joyful Land according to Highest Yoga Tantra as our preparation each session for meditating on the 5 stages of completion stage, which “means that through the force of meditation one’s own mind of great bliss and emptiness becomes non-dual, just one, like two spaces mixed with each other. This is extremely profound and subtle, and these days those who understand the meaning of this union through experience are as rare as stars appearing during the day.” Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
Fortunately however, these instructions are clear and very accessible for us because of the skill, wisdom and personal experience of the author, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. There will be an introduction Friday evening that will provide important information and instructions for the retreat. The retreat will be 5 sessions, each session will focus on one of the 5 completion stage meditations from the book The Oral Instructions Of Mahamudra by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. *To engage in this retreat successfully you should have received a Highest Yoga Tantra Empowerment or at least the Empowerment of Je Tsongkhapa with the transmission of the mantra of Guru Sumati Buddha Heruka.
