  • About This Event

    It is through our mind, particularly through our thoughts and feelings, that we experience our life as being wonderful and meaningful or we find ourselves in a state of constant worry or despair. 

    In these classes we will discover the benefits of universal compassion, tranquil abiding, and wisdom. In this way we can open our mind to its limitless possibilities and learn to make ourselves happy. 

    “Happiness and suffering are feelings – parts of our mind – and so their main causes are not to be found outside the mind. If we want to be truly happy and free from suffering we must improve our understanding of the mind.”

    Instructions for Attendance

    > Anyone who wishes to attend in person, must pre-register using the booking form below on this page. Walk-ins will not be accepted, so please register in advance.
    > Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. If a class registration fills up, you can use our registration system to register for the live-stream class and you can also pre-register for a future in-person class.
    > Please register by 10:30am on Tuesday morning before the class for a smooth check-in process.

  • The Teacher

    This event is taught by Gen Dorje. Gen Dorje has been studying and practicing Buddhism for over 20 years under the guidance of his teacher Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, the founder of the New Kadampa Tradition. Gen Dorje is admired for his warmth and humor in making Buddha’s teachings relevant to the modern world. He is an inspiring example of how to integrate Buddha’s teachings into a joyful life.
