Friday, November 20th, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
In this Friday Night Lecture we will learn how we can use our daily life as our greatest spiritual teacher. Through seeing spiritual lessons in everyday life we can keep a positive mind, turn every situation to our advantage, and make swift progress in our spiritual practice. Everything we encounter in daily life can remind us of the truth of Buddha’s teaching – how life is impermanent, how happiness cannot be found in the external world, and how minds like loving kindness and wisdom are the only real causes of happiness. This special view will make us realize that meditation practice is not confined to our meditation cushion but can be practised anywhere and at anytime.
“I have no need of books because all the objects around me are my books. From these I learn about death and impermanence, the disadvantages of samsara, and the emptiness of all phenomena.” – The great meditator Milarepa
