February Series: Making Life Meaningful

with Resident Teacher Gen Demo

There is nothing more precious than our human life. Having been born as a human being we have immense freedom to accomplish almost anything we want. But what will make us truly happy? What will benefit others most? And when this life is over, what will help us then? In this series we will explore Buddha’s teachings on death and impermanence as a practical method to bring meaning to our life. By doing this we can refresh our focus and learn to make daily activities part of our spiritual practice.

Class fee: $10 (included for Temple Supporters)

February Series: Developing Confidence

with Meditation Teacher Angus Berry

Most of us want to work out the issues in our lives that interfere with our freedom and happiness.  But when we try to change, we fall back into old, well-worn patterns. Before long, we can even begin to suspect that we can’t change and find our self getting depressed or discouraged. In this series we will look at our potential to change and train in developing an inner confidence that protects us from discouraged ways of looking our self and others.  Everyone welcome. The New Eight Steps to Happiness

As a commentary to one of Buddhism’s best-loved and most enduring teachings, Eight Verses of Training the Mind by the great Tibetan Bodhisattva Langri Tangpa, it explains how to transform every moment of our life into a step on the path to inner peace, and in particular how to transform all of life’s difficulties into truly liberating experiences.
This program provides excellent conditions to deepen our knowledge and experience along our spiritual path through study, guided meditation, discussion and practical advice from an experienced teacher.

The New Guide to Dakini Land

with Resident Teacher Gen Demo

The purpose of the Teacher Training Program is to provide an extensive presentation of particular subjects of Mahayana Buddhism to enable practitioners to deepen their knowledge and experience of Buddhism, and to train as qualified New Kadampa Tradition Teachers.

This comprehensive guide provides a detailed and practical explanation of the two stages of Vajrayogini practice – generation stage and completion stage – and shows how we can integrate these practices into our daily life, thereby transforming every moment of our life into the path to enlightenment. It is a unique guide to becoming a Tantric enlightened being in the modern world.
