In this day and age we lack spiritual imagination. We perhaps think we can improve ourselves a little bit, but we have no sense of the vastness of our human potential – that each one of us can have a mind pervaded by boundless joy, wisdom, love, and the compassionate power truly to be of benefit to others in this world. This is why in Modern Buddhism, as practiced at our Center, Buddha’s Tantric teachings play a central role. Tantric teachings give us a clear and beautiful vision of who we can be and, in the practice known as ‘correct imagination’, the method for actualizing that extraordinary potential swiftly. During this year’s Florida Dharma Celebration, we will explore the practice of Tantra and how we can use it to empower our spiritual life. In particular Tantra teaches us how everything in our life, our relationships, jobs, and enjoyments can be integrated into a powerful and joyful process of inner development, drawing us ever closer to actualizing our true nature.
