Living at KMC Florida

Join Our Residential Community!

Becoming a part of the residential community here is a unique opportunity to experience modern Buddhism in action. Enjoy the inspirational company of others who emphasize living a spiritual life, an extensive education program and retreat opportunities.

Our community consists of residents – people who live onsite at KMC Florida, including ordained monks and nuns – and others who live in the local area. You will find a warm, friendly community here, that strives to exemplify Buddhist practice through public service. This includes providing everyone, regardless of background, experience or belief, the opportunity to learn how to achieve inner peace and happiness through meditation.

KMC-Florida offers residence to those who have successfully completed an interview and application process on a space-available basis.

Communal Kitchen

Residents enjoy cooking and sharing meals together in the communal kitchen. All meals are vegetarian in the temple.

Working Visits

In exchange for 35 hours of voluntary work, working visitors can receive dormitory accommodation as well as the opportunity to attend daily prayers and General Program classes held at KMC Florida. Breakfast is provided during working visits.

Retreats

Staying onsite in our comfortable accommodation gives our retreat  participants the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the meditation retreat or course they are attending. Feel free to inquire about longer stays for personal or counting retreats.

KMC Florida has a variety of options including single, double, and triple occupancy rooms as well as a male and female dorm. We also have ample bathroom facilities for our guests.

The cost of living at KMC Florida depends on the type of accommodation you choose and your length of stay.

The mind that cherishes others is the supreme good heart. Keeping such a good heart will result only in happiness for ourself and all those around us.
