About Sarasota

The City of Sarasota is located on Florida’s Suncoast with a population of about 55,000. It is easily accessible from Tampa, Miami, or Orlando and also has its own small, international airport. The climate of Sarasota is humid and subtropical with hot, humid summers and mild winters. There is a distinct rainy season from March to November and a dry season from December to February. Sarasota has a vibrant arts scene, numerous cultural attractions, and more than 35 miles of coastline, including some world-famous beaches that are recognized as being among the most beautiful in the country.

Getting Here By Air

Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) is only 10 minutes from KMC Florida and has flights from many major airport hubs around the US. There are numerous Nonstop Destinations to SRQ from most major airports on the east coast and midwest, as well as from Denver. You can also get to KMC Florida from the following airports:

      • Tampa TPA (~1 hour)
      • Orlando MCO (~2.5 hours)
      • Miami MIA (~3.5 hours)

Getting Here By Car

KMC Florida is conveniently located off of Highway 301 and is easily accessible from all major cities and towns in Florida (see map below). If you are arriving by air or bus, Uber, Lyft, and other taxi and rideshare services are abundant in the area. There are also rental car services available at the airport and in many locations throughout the city.

Getting Here By Bus

Major bus lines such as Grehound, FlixBus, and RedCoach have frequent service to Sarasota. Within Sarasota, there is also a public bus system called Breeze Transit that maintains 14 fixed-line bus routes that service the city and connect Sarasota to several surrounding communities. From the SRQ airport, take Breeze Transit Line 8 to the N Orange Ave @ 8th St stop, which is about a 10 minute walk from the center.
