What to Expect in a Class
At the beginning of each class, we start with a guided breathing meditation. We focus on the breath to decrease the distractions of our mind so that our mind naturally becomes more peaceful. The teacher then gives a teaching about how we can integrate Buddha’s teachings into our busy modern lives. At the end of the class there is another guided meditation focusing on integrating the teaching from the class so that we can take the information to practice on our own throughout the week. Classes are generally arranged in a series focusing on a specific topic, but each class is self contained and can be taken on its own. You can pre-register for classes online, but you can also walk in and register for any weekly, drop-in class on the same day.
