So much of what we dwell on has already passed.
Old memories, familiar worries, and outdated beliefs can linger in our minds, quietly shaping how we see ourselves, others, and what we believe is possible. Yet nothing remains the same for even a moment, and our mind itself is constantly renewing.
In this retreat, we will explore a special teaching from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche that combines meditation on the clarity of the mind with meditation on impermanence. Instead of following distractions, we can recognize that they are already in the past and gently return our attention to the clarity and freshness of the present moment.
Impermanence also gives us a powerful new perspective on our relationships. When we remember that the person who upset us is changing from moment to moment—and that we ourselves are also changing from moment to moment—anger and attachment begin to lose their grip. We can learn to relate to ourselves and others with greater freedom, patience, and kindness.
Everyone welcome. No previous meditation experience necessary.
Stay overnight! On-site accommodations available.
