Join us for a day of fun and fundraising for world peace!
We will meet and check-in at KMC Florida at 10am. Then we will carpool to the Whitaker Gateway Park. We will then engage in a short guided meditation, walk together through The Bay Park and then return to the park for a picnic!
Our goal for this fundraiser is to raise $25,000
All funds raised will support KMC Florida’s efforts to help the people of Florida develop peaceful minds. By increasing our own inner peace, we can bring about world peace.
As our founder, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso (Geshe-la) says,
“Without inner peace, outer peace is impossible.”
A donation of any size contributes to KMC Florida’s dedication to World Peace. The money raised from the Walk will go towards the International Temples Fund that not only provides financial support for KMC Florida, but also supports projects all over the world. Some of KMC FL’s projects include lighting the vajras on our roof and developing our parking lot.
Your donation will also help people develop inner peace through learning Buddha’s teachings. These teachings create a ripple effect in our community; bringing peace to each person who hears them and then shares them with their friends, neighbors and world. Help create a positive ripple in your community.
* Please be aware that the fundraising application we are using for the walk will add an OPTIONAL (extra) donation on your checkout page for Zeffy. You can type in zero as this does not go to KMC FL.
Adult registration: $35 (includes a t-shirt & picnic)
Child registration: $15 (includes picnic only)

11:10 – 12pm | Walk for World Peace (options include 1 mile, 1.6 miles and 2.2 miles)
- 1 Mile Walk : Whitaker Gateway Park to 10th Street and Tamiami intersection and back.
- 1.6 Mile Walk: Whitaker Gateway Park to Van Wezel (Via the Bay) and back.
- 2.2 Mile Walk: Whitaker Gateway Park to The Bay Park Beach (where the Ibis playground is) and back.
