Developing Concentration in an Age of Distraction

Developing Concentration in an Age of Distraction

Increase your concentration and loving kindness

Save the Date: Special Weekend Retreat with Gen Samten Kelsang, the Resident Teacher of KMC New York.

The main focus will be on how to develop concentration, meditative stabilization, and eventually tranquil abiding on immeasurable love. It will cover what loving kindness is, how to generate and maintain it in analytical and placement meditation, and meditation tools to deepen our experience of this practice. We will also look at how to integrate our meditative experiences with our daily life when we are off the cushion.

Since the main obstacle to concentration is distraction, and since a main source of distraction in modern day society is our relationship with technology, another subject we will be looking at on Sunday is how to develop healthy relationships with our technology in a way that allows for a flourishing meditation practice.
