How to Think Like a Meditator

How to Think Like a Meditator

Week 3: Finding our Object of Meditation

There are so many benefits to meditation, now is the time to experience them for yourself. Whether you are new to meditation or wish to deepen and improve your practice, this weekly series is for you.

Meditation is much more than simply stopping thoughts. In these classes, we will take a practical and insightful look at the mind itself, exploring the different mental functions that support successful meditation. By understanding the different parts of the mind that come together in a successful meditation, we can assess our strengths, address areas for improvement, and develop the skills for deeper, more meaningful meditations.

  • Week 1- Understanding the Mind and it’s Parts
  • Week 2- Developing Meaningful Aspirations
  • Week 3- Finding our Object of Meditation
  • Week 4 – Mindfulness, the Heart of Meditation
  • Week 5 – Concentration and Mental Suppleness
  • Week 6 – The Power of Wisdom

We will be using How to Understand the Mind by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso as the basis for this series.
